Systematic studies on hydrogen cluster beam production

چکیده

We present systematic studies on the absolute density of hydrogen cluster beams produced by using Laval-nozzles. Measurements of the cluster beam density as function of the nozzle temperature and the gas input pressure result in maximum cluster beam densities for cases where the gas is already in a supersaturated state before passing the nozzle. The influence of the gas flow through the nozzle on the starting temperature of clustering and the temperature dependence of the cluster beam density at constant gas flows are studied. Simulation of Fabrication toward High Quality Thin Films for Robotic Applications by Ionized Cluster Beam Deposition

The most commonly used method for the production of thin films is based on deposition of atoms or molecules onto a solid surface. One of the suitable method is to produce high quality metallic, semiconductor and organic thin film is Ionized cluster beam deposition (ICBD), which are used in electronic, robotic, optical, optoelectronic devices. Many important factors such as cluster size, cluster...

Beam loss studies in high-intensity heavy-ion linacs

090101-1 The proposed Rare Isotope Accelerator (RIA) Facility, an innovative exotic-beam facility for the production of high-quality beams of short-lived isotopes, consists of a fully superconducting 1.4 GV driver linac and a 140 MV postaccelerator. To produce sufficient intensities of secondary beams the driver linac will provide 400 kW primary beams of any ion from hydrogen to uranium. Becaus...

Møller Polarimetry with Atomic Hydrogen Targets

A novel proposal of using polarized atomic hydrogen gas, stored in an ultra-cold magnetic trap, as the target for electron beam polarimetry based on Møller scattering is discussed. Such a target of practically 100% polarized electrons could provide a superb systematic accuracy of about 0.5% for beam polarization measurements. Feasibility studies for the CEBAF electron beam have been performed.

The significance of key operational variables to the enhancement of hydrogen production in a single-chamber microbial electrolysis cell (MEC)

Microbial electrolysis cell (MEC) is one of the promising and cutting-edge technologies for generating hydrogen from wastewater through biodegradation of organic waste by exoelectrogenic microbes. In the MECs, the operational parameters, such as applied voltage (Eap), anode surface area, anode-cathode distance, and N2/CO2 volume ratio have a significant impact on the hydrogen yield and producti...

Photocatalytic Hydrogen Production

The photocatalytic methanol reforming reaction has been studied using many different Pd/Pt loaded TiO2 powdered catalysts, focussing on the effect of weight loading and reaction phase on the rate of hydrogen production. The palladium/platinum weight loading dependence in the gas and liquid phase showed that independent of the phase of reaction, the amount of hydrogen produced from methanol refo...
